Woman’s handbag stolen, loses Rs 48k in Amritsar

Amritsar, July 25

Two unidentified women have stolen the handbag of a woman while travelling in an auto-rickshaw here yesterday. The victim has been identified as Neelam Malhotra of Sultanwind.
In her complaint at the Sultanwind police station, the victim stated that she was going towards the city in an auto-rickshaw. On the way, two women along with a child got on to the same auto-rickshaw. After a few minutes, the women started arguing with the auto-rickshaw driver. In the meantime, both women got down near Mata Kaulan Bhalai Kender. Later, Neelam found her handbag containing Rs 48,000, a credit card and some important documents missing. “I am sure that my purse was stolen by those women”, stated the victim.
ASI Jasbir Singh said the case had been registered.
