The stars of a television show, Swabhimaan- Ek Shingaar, Ankita Sharma and Samridh Bawa were in the city today to promote the show and celebrate its success among their fans. The young actors expressed their happiness over the show’s success and the fact that the Indian television was now full of opportunities for the newcomers.
“So many production houses nowadays trust young actors with their concept and shows,” said Ankita. Born and bred in Chandigarh, Ankita said she had been to Amritsar in the past as well. “I have been to Golden Temple many times and I am glad that I have Samridh along with me this time. My character, Naina, has evolved immensely since the beginning of the show. She has grown out of her shell and carved a special place for herself in the family. So, in a way I can relate to her as I too have grown in confidence as an actor,” she says.
Samridh Bawa said, “Amritsar is a heaven for a foodie like me. Though I have visited Amritsar in the past, I am looking forward to having a lot of fun. I have heard so much about the authentic Amritsari Kulche that are available near Golden Temple, and I cannot wait to taste them.”
The actors were accompanied by producer Sooraj Barjatya from Rajshri Productions. “While the audience has appreciated the concept and storyline, there’s also been a deep connect with the characters and their situations. I am extremely proud at how far this team has come in showcasing the importance of a mother’s self-respect with such strong aesthetics,” he added.
