Unidentified armed persons robbed a trader when he was returning home after collecting daily collection. The incident occurred near Anand Avenue at around 12 midnight. The accused decamped with Rs 1.50 lakh in cash from him.
Rajesh Khanna, a water-pump trader, stated to the police that he was coming home with his daily collection. He said when he reached near his house, some motorcycle-borne persons stood in front of his vehicle. They took out pistols and asked him to open the door of the Innova vehicle. When he did not do so, the accused broke open the window glasses and snatched the bag containing the cash. They also beat him up and opened fire before decamping.
