The Special Task Force (STF) has been looking into the properties of tainted cop Inderjit Singh, which he had made with the help of illegal money earned from drug smugglers and gangsters.
The STF has managed to identify around six properties related to him. Sources in the STF revealed that he had procured these properties in the name of his relatives.
The sources said the STF found two hotels located near the Golden Temple, a palatial house on the Tarn Taran road, a house in Ranjit Avenue, another in a private colony and a sprawling house in Phagwara.
The revenue records of these properties have been sent to Chandigarh for further investigations and action, the sources added.
Besides, the police had also identified several agricultural lands which were bought by him and the STF was looking into the revenue records of these lands, said an official attached with the investigation teams, while preferring not to be named.
Inderjit Singh was arrested by the STF for his alleged links with drug smugglers and gangsters. He was dismissed from his service by the police department yesterday.
STF officials said many other cops, including senior police officials, who were associated with him, were also under the scanner.
According to information, the STF was also looking into his accomplice, who used to make the documents for the registry of the properties.
