Scuffle at airport parking

According to information, two workers of the restaurant had some enmity with the staff of the parking lot. Balbir singh, supervisor of the parking lot, said the restaurant employees misbehaved with them and also “tossed their turbans”. They filed a complaint with the airport police. The restaurant employees, however, denying the allegations, said the parking staff thrashed them. Airport SHO Paramdeep Kaur said, “We had received a complaint from the parking employees. Now, they have reached a compromise.” TNS
Man robbed of cash, scooter
Unknown persons robbed a local resident, Bahadur Singh, of cash and scooter in Basant Avenue on Sunday. The victim was returning home on his scooter when the armed robbers intercepted him in Basant Avenue and snatched his scooter and Rs 15,000 in cash. He said when he tried to resist, the accused fired at him but he escaped unhurt. The Civil Lines police have registered a case. TNS

Poppy husk seized

The Division B police have arrested Harpreet Singh of Salupur village in Gurdaspur along with another person for allegedly possessing 3 kg of poppy husk. A case under Sections 15, 61 and 85 under the NDPS Act has been registered. The police are investigating the case.
