Amritsar, July 10

The Traffic Education Cell of the police department organised a workshop at Government Senior Secondary School today.
Addressing students and teachers, Inspector Kuldeep Kaur of the Traffic Education Cell apprised the students of traffic rules while driving a vehicle on the road. She also told them about the laws available to punish the violators and gave tips to avert accidents.
She elaborated on traffic rules and gave information about the Motor Vehicle Act. The students were asked to avoid driving a vehicle at high speed, triple riding, red light jumping and other norms.
Sub-inspector Paramjit Singh, head constables Kanwaljit Singh and Salwant Singh said the biggest contributor to accidents was speed as the drivers were unable to control their vehicles at sharp turns.
Earlier, school principal Jiwan Jyoti and staff welcomed the guests.
