Sampan team from Godrej and Boyce Manufacturing Co Ltd was declared winner in the 30th Quality Circle (QC) competition organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here today.
The first runner-up trophy was won by Umang team from Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd and second runner-up trophy was lifted by the Pragati team of Rockman Industries Ltd. These teams will now participate in the regional-level competition.
Eleven quality circles made presentations on the specific projects handled by them at their work place. The assessment of the presentation was made on a weighted scale covering different aspects of the quality circle activity. The evaluation was based on factors like problem selection, analysis, solution, and presentation.
Deputy Commissioner KS Sangha was the chief guest who gave away the trophies to the winning teams at the valedictory session. “The approach, initiative and hard work of the workmen lead to concrete results,” he said.
