Rajya Sabha MP Shwait Malik today demanded a high level probe in the alleged benami transactions and money laundering in the auctions of sand mines. Controversy erupted after it came to the fore that four former employees, including a cook of the state power minister, won Rs 26 crore bid of sand mines in Nawanshehr. Malik said that Capt Amarinder Singh, who came to power by making tall promises, should clear over this. “He should immediately sack the power minister,” he said.
Malik, at a press conference here today, said he Congress was battling for survival in the country. “The BJP will come out with a thumping victory in 2019 parliamentary elections as well,” he said.
Answering to the media queries on why the liquor had not been brought under the Goods and Service Tax, he said the GST would be implemented in July and before that a lot of discussions and meeting were being done by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. He said everything would be clear by July.
