Play puts focus on serving motherland

Amritsar, August 6

Aiming to sensitise people to their responsibilities towards their motherland, the Jalandhar-based Yuva Theatre Group presented a play titled ‘Mai se Badhkar’ at Punjab Naatshala here today.

Adapted from the modern American classic All My Sons by Arthur Miller, the play was directed by Ankur Sharma. It focused on moral responsibilities. Anukur said, “The play talks about the present state of society. People have become selfish. They are using their power for their own good rather than the benefit of the country. This is an effort to make people awake towards their responsibilities.”

The play is based on a selfish businessman supplying low quality of cylinders to the Indian Air force. His own children also serve in the Air Force. The play progresses as 21 pilots are martyred in a mishap due to such cylinders and his children question him for his deeds. It gives a message that that man tends to overlook the loss caused by him to society for the sake of personal benefits. Ankur Sharma, Anjali Misra, Sanya Batta and Govind Verma took part in the play. Jatinder Brar, founder of Punjab Naatshala, praised the team for their presentation.
