Amritsar, July 31
Overloaded autorickshaws plying in the city is a common sight. As per the norms, only six persons can be accommodated in an autorickshaw, but drivers continue to cock a snook at the law as they pick almost eight to 10 passengers, putting several lives in jeopardy.
Rajat Khana, a city resident, said, “People should refrain from boarding the autorickshaws which are already full.”
Anuksha, a college student, said, “Not only the autorickshaw drivers, but also residents should shun this practice. If people will stop boarding the overcrowded commercial vehicles, drivers will give up such a practice.
