Former health minister Lakshmi Kanta Chawla lashed out at Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh-led state government for its “failure” to ensure infrastructure for students pursuing professional and vocational courses at government schools.
She said in the absence of proper facility for practical education on such subjects, students are made to study only theory. “Schools have no facility of workshops to support practical of certain subjects. For instance, physical education is limited only to theory. The numbers are usually marked by teachers.”
Same is the case with students pursuing environmental science, she said, adding that the state government must remove such shortcomings for students’ bright future. — TNS
