The monthly review meetings of the Health Department have not been conducted after the formation of the new government in the state. The work of the department is being affected without meetings.
“These meetings save a lot of time in getting paper work approved once senior officials are convinced. With no review meetings, files move along with others and this affects the working of the department,” said a senior official of the department. The last review meeting was conducted in March, that too through video conferencing.
Later, new Health Minister Brahm Mohindra had conducted an introductory meeting with senior officials of the department. “A senior official, requesting anonymity, said, “Sometimes a minor decision needs an approval from higher-ups. If the review meetings are there, we can directly inform the officials who instantly take a decision.”
