Man held with illegal weapon, bullets

The Bhindi Saida police have arrested Parmajit Singh, alias Pamma, son of Harjant Singh of Sheikh Bhatthi village, while he was carrying an illegal weapon. According to the police, he was wanted in many criminal cases and was held from near Nepal village, following a specific input.

Charan Singh, investigating officer, said that during a naka near Jasraur village, he received a specific input that the accused was standing near Nepal village. Paramjit, who was wanted in many criminal cases, was not appearing in the court. Immediately, a raid was conducted and he was arrested by the police party.

The police recovered a .315-bore country-made pistol with live cartridges. They found five more bullets from his pocket. He could not produce any documents regarding the legality of the weapon. A case under the Arms Act had been registered against him and further interrogation was under way after he was brought on police remand.
