Vice Chancellor Prof Jaspal Singh Sandhu inaugurated the event. Sports director Sukhdev Singh said sportspersons should deliver their best to bring Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Trophy to the university.
Amitoj Likhari, director, Rise Games, said, “We will be conducting such events in future. The main aim is to develop stamina as well as overall well being in players. The games aimed to test primarily on strength, speed, endurance and overall fitness.”
Eight teams each of boys and girls participated. There were various contests, such as Tyre Flip 50 metre, Tyre Carry 25m and Shuttle Run 100m. GI Rendezvous, health partner of Rise Games, an organisation of the medical experts for creating public awareness, distributed leaflets for creating awareness on Hepatitis C.
The winning team was given Rs 8,000, first runners-up Rs 6,000 and second runners-up were given Rs 4,000.
