Five vehicles stolen

Amritsar: Unscrupulous elements stole as many as five two-wheelers from different parts of the city in the past 24 hours. In one such incident miscreants took away motorcycle of a traffic policemen identified as ASI Sukhdev Singh, who is deputed with the traffic police. He said unidentified person had stolen his bike along with a challan book. Meanwhile, Shivani Sharma stated to the police that she parked her scooter near the Lohgarh area, which was stolen by unknown person. Similarly, Aman of Shakti Nagar lodged a complaint with the Division D police regarding stealing of his bike. In another incident unknown person decamped with Enfield Bullet motorcycle of Barinderpal Singh from outside his house. TNS

Rs 10,000 snatched 

A local resident Kuldeep Singh stated to the police that when he reached near Avtar Avenue, an unknown person came from behind on a scooter and intercepted him at 2 pm on Tuesday. He said the culprit pointed a sharp-edged weapon at him and snatched his purse containing Rs 10,000 before fleeing from the spot. The Sadar police station has registered a case in this regard. TNS

Girl molested 

In a shocking incident, an eight-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a youth identified as Narinder Singh, a resident of the Guru Ki Wadali area. Her father stated to the police that the accused, who was known to the family, came to the house and took his daughter to his DVD shop. He allegedly molested and threatened her. The police have registered a case under Sections 354-A and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The accused is yet to be arrested. TNS
