Amritsar, July 26
The health authorities have planned to hold a deworming drive for children enrolled at aganwari centres, government and private schools in the district. In a departmental review meeting, in which the Deputy Commissioner participated, health officials said medicines would be given free of cost.
Civil Surgeon Dr Pardeep Chawla said the medicine would be made available at all 1,851 aganwari centres and 1,324 schools. He said children aged between 1 and 19 years would be given these tablets. The first phase of the drive would be conducted on August 10 and those uncovered during this period would be given medicines on August 17.
