A lecture on vector-borne diseases was organised at DAV College’s zoology department here yesterday.
District Epidemiologist Dr Madan Mohan, while addressing students, threw light on various types of mosquitoes which spread malaria, chikungunya and dengue. He also discussed ways to prevent such diseases. Epidemic vector-borne diseases are the main reason behind concerns regarding public health, social and economic problems at the beginning of the 21st century, he said.
Students of BSc. Medical and BSc. Biotech participated in the event and asked various queries.
