Amritsar, June 21

The counseling of students under the scrapped Khalsa University is underway at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU). However, the future of students is still in the lurch as a few courses some of the students have opted for are not available with the university.
The managements of the two colleges had de-affiliated from the GNDU after the proposal of Khalsa University. The government decision to scrap the university had put a question mark on the future of the students, especially the first year. The GNDU was assigned to shift the students to institutions under its jurisdiction.
Khalsa College for Women and Khalsa College of Education are facing the heat.
DS Rataul, Deputy Director, Public Relations, Khalsa College, said, “The government should have been careful for the future of those kids. Most of them cannot move out of their cities as it will be a financial burden on them. We are not admitting new students.”
Prof Subodh Kumar said the matter would be discussed and their details would be submitted to the government.
