Amritsar: Irked over the remarks by BJP chief Amit Shah, who referred to Mahatma Gandhi as a ‘chatur baniya’, Congress workers on Monday burned his effigy at the Hall gate. Protesting and demanding an apology from the BJP leadership, they said that the episode showed how the ruling party respected national heroes. Congress leader Jugal Kishore Sharma, said, “It is a direct case of disrespecting a national hero, Father of Our Nation. These words should not have been used for such an inspiring international figure. The PM should himself take some action against it.”  TNS
