Members of the Chemists’ Association have announced to keep their medical stores closed tomorrow in protest against the policies of the Centre and the state government. They are opposing the online sale of medicines and also police inspections.
The protest has been announced on the call given by the All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD).
Surinder Duggal, general secretary, Punjab Chemists’ Association, said, “e-pharmacies, which are violating the basic rules of the drug sale, have already started affecting the business of chemists. In Punjab, there are 21,940 drug stores. The number of medical shops in the country is above 8.5 lakh.”
