Amritsar, July 27
Former state health minister Laxmi Kanta Chawla today urged the Union Human Resource Development Minster Prakash Javadekar to include more chapters on lives of freedom fighters, heroes of Kargil and other wars in the school curriculum to inculcate the values of patriotism among students.
In a press statement, she said the syllabus was limited about the role of freedom fighters and Kargil heroes in the present system. Inclusion of more chapters would motivate students to understand the relevance of Vijay Diwas. Despite repeated request, the Punjab government has done nothing, she said. — TNS
