Cash, valuables stolen

Jagjit Kaur, the owner of the car, stated in her complaint that she had gone to buy household goods from a general store in Fair Land Colony on her I-20 car in the afternoon. When she came out of the store after buying the goods, she found that the windowpane of the rear side of the car was lying broken. Some unidentified persons had stolen her handbag containing three ATM cards, a cellphone, Rs 7, 000 and important documents. The Civil Lines police have registered a case under Section 380 of the IPC in this regard. TNS
Man held with gold
Amritsar: An Indian immigrant from Dubai was nabbed with 473.78 gm of gold by custom officials at the Sri Guru Ramdas Jee International Airport here on Tuesday. The accused has been identified as Mohammed Kunhi Abdulla, a resident of Kerala.  The officials said the estimated the value of the gold was around Rs 13 lakh. TNS
