Car stolen on gunpoint

Armed persons robbed a car from a local resident, identified as Rahul. The incident occurred on Tuesday night. The police have registered a case under Sections 379, 379-B (2) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 25 of the Arms Act in this regard.

Rahul stated to the police that at around 11 pm on Tuesday, he stopped his car in the C-block of Ranjit Avenue to buy ice cream. He said the ignition of his car was on, adding that unknown persons entered his car and tried to flee. He said he stood in front of the car and resisted their attempt. He alleged that the two youths took out pistols and pointed at him. They threatened to shoot him. The accused then sped away with the car. He said he had his mobile phone in the car. — TNS
