Amritsar, August 5
Rohit Chaudhary, ADGP (law and order) today supervised the beat feet patrolling system that he launched earlier this year after assuming office.
He briefed the beat staff and the PCR teams. He gave them beat books and asked them record everything in the same. The beat foot patrolling system was launched across the state to establish a liaison with the people.
Beat officers should keep a close contact with residents of their beat area which would ultimately help in curbing the crime and nabbing drug peddlers active in their areas. The beat officers should identify the substance abusers in their areas and contact their family members to motivate them to shun drugs, by getting admitted to de-addiction centres, if needed. He also asked them to keep a close contact with principals of educational institutes and create a WhatsAap group so that they could contact the cops in case of any emergency.
Earlier, he held a police-public meeting in Kabir Park area and listened to their grievances. — TNS
