4 booked on bid to murder charge

Amritsar, June 16

The Rajasansi police have booked four persons on charges of attempt to murder. Monetary dispute is stated to be the reason behind the incident.
Those booked were identified as Balwinder Singh, his son Rajan, Major Singh and Bhalli, all residents of Jhanjhoti village. No arrest has been made so far while a case under Sections 307, 341, 34 of the IPC and Sections 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act has been registered against them.
Complainant Karanbir Singh of Jhajhoti village said on Wednesday evening, he along with his friend Nachhatar Singh was returning on a motorcycle after taking medicine from a medical store when the accused intercepted them. He said Balwinder Singh shouted that he would teach him a lesson for demanding money. He said they tried to escape after leaving behind their motorcycle. He said the accused fired at him with an intention to kill him.
The police said investigations were under way while raids were also being conducted to arrest the culprits who were on the run.
