Nishanbir Singh has made the city proud by clearing the entrance examination of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences.
The boy, hailing from a rural background, secured the All-India 230th Rank in the competitive medical examination. His father, Hardeep Singh, is a retired police official and mother, Balwinder Kaur, is a housewife.
“I used to study for long hours. I devoted eight hours daily for self-study. I am very happy,” said Nishanbir Singh who aspires to become a neurologist or a cardiologist in future.
Dr Jeevan Jyoti Sidana , manager, Sidana International School, said, “A number of our students have cleared the examination. Nishanbir has made us proud by bagging the first position in the city. He is a shy boy who has worked really hard for this achievement. We are very proud of him.” — TNS
